About Moving Art Madeira
Moving Art Madeira was founded by Vanya Kirova in early 2024 and is currently located in the heart of Funchal, Madeira. The school was born from Vanya’s passion for dance and her desire to share this art with a new generation of young talent.

Vanya Kirova, originally from Bulgaria, is a professional artist, choreographer, and highly recognized rhythmic gymnastics coach. For many years, she was part of the Bulgarian National Rhythmic Gymnastics Team, becoming a national champion and medallist in several international competitions, including the prestigious World Grand Prix series.
Since 2013, Vanya has been one of the lead performers in the Phoenix Show – a large-scale international production, similar to Cirque du Soleil, but with an innovative concept that includes fire and LED technology. Her journey has led her to perform in major shows such as the Closing Ceremony of the First European Games in Baku, the opening of the SoundStorm music festival in Saudi Arabia, and other events in countries like India, Germany, China, Greece, among many others.

In 2015, Vanya founded her first dance school, Moving Art Bulgaria, where she trained young dancers who went on to win numerous awards, including 1st place at the DanceStar World Dance Cup in the Musical Show Dance category and 1st place at the International Dance Open.

Now living in Madeira, Vanya has been working with local students for over a year. In the 2024–2025 season, she created a vibrant show with her students called “Movie Traveling”, featuring modern choreographies inspired by music from famous films. Her goal is to create a new show each year — with a new story and a new theme — because for her, dancing is much more than just movement: it’s about telling stories through the body.
This year, Moving Art Madeira took another step forward by forming a competition team. In April 2025, the group won 2nd place at All Dance Portugal, one of the most important dance competitions in the country, qualifying for the European final in Spain. In June, they repeated the achievement with another 2nd place at the Portugal Dance Competition, earning the highest score in their age group — only surpassed by an older team.
Also in June, Moving Art Madeira presented its original show in the center of Funchal during Art Week Madeira, with around 40 children participating. The audience loved the performance, which led to the school being invited to open ExpoMadeira the following month.
Now, with eyes set on the new season, Vanya and her students are dreaming even bigger, already preparing new choreographies with the goal of achieving even greater results.
The most important lesson Vanya wants to pass on to her students is simple, yet powerful:
“We can achieve anything we want in life — if we truly want it and are willing to work hard for it. That’s how dreams come true. That’s how everything becomes possible.”
